Goncalo Alves is also known as Tigerwood because of its deep, rich, orange hue with striking dark grain pattern. The bottom half of the bowl is sloped from the middle of the bowl to the ringed foot, with 6 decreasing tiers. The surface of each tier has been decorated with subtle texturing. The upper half has a straight vertical profile intersected with 7 wire burned grooves. The flat rim also has textured detailing. The inside of the bowl has been left plain. The rich tones of this bowl have been further enhanced with a coat of Odies Oil and Carnauba wax.
