Cat Bed & Mat Care

Caring for your Cat Bed

Handcrafted with love in the Scottish Highlands, our cat beds and mats are made from 100% British wool, celebrating the natural beauty and heritage of Jacob wool, Shetland wool, and Harris Tweed wool (sourced from a byproduct of Scotland's iconic tweed weaving process). Each piece is unique, crocheted or peg-loom woven with care to provide ultimate comfort for your feline friend.

Wool Cat Bed Care Instructions

Airing:

  • Regular airing helps refresh the wool, as it has natural self-cleaning properties. Place the bed outside in a shady spot to allow the fibres to breathe and release any trapped odours.

Shaking:

  • ·Shaking the bed gently can help remove dirt and debris. It's a quick and effective way to keep the bed clean between washes.

Spot-Cleaning:

  • For small stains, use a damp cloth and mild wool detergent to gently blot the area. Avoid rubbing, as it can damage the fibres.

Handwashing:

  • Fill a large container with lukewarm water and add a small amount of wool detergent.
  • Submerge the bed and leave to soak for about 30 minutes. Avoid wringing or twisting.
  • Rinse thoroughly in clean lukewarm water, again avoid wringing or twisting.
  • Press out excess water by rolling the bed in a towel and squeezing.
  • Reshape the bed (the sides could be supported inside with a rolled-up towel) and lay on a flat surface to dry in a shaded area, away from direct sunlight or heat sources.

Note: Wool is naturally antimicrobial and resistant to odours, so frequent washing is not necessary.
