Large two-tone ash bowl with a pyrographed image of a Junk Boat.
This ash bowl has spectacular tonal variations to its grain pattern resembling a cove and lends itself well to the pyrographed image of an Oriental Junk Boat. The bowl has an incurved profile with a slightly coved rim.
The bowl has been minimally decorated to enhance the natural illustration created by the grain pattern.
Finished with Danish Oil and carnauba wax for sheen and protection.
Woody's Words -"This piece of wood is related to the 'Camel Train' ash bowl (see Instagram post), this time I felt that the striking tonal variations of the grain pattern lent itself to a seascape and was perfect for a spot of pyrography. I toyed with the idea of a pod of dolphins, a whale breaching and a more local theme 'Nessie', but in the end chose an Oriental Junk Boat. I love it when nature provides such a perfect backdrop for a little embellishment like this!"
