This triple coved Ogee shape ash bowl has a striking grain pattern which exhibits stunning chatoyance. The outer aspect of the very broad rim has been scorched to accentuate the grain and coloured with burnt orange, ruby and flame intrinsic stains. The inner part of the rim has been textured by hand and scorched to highlight the high spots, bordered either side by a scorched ring. The small inner bowl has been left natural, along with the outside of the bowl. This stunning scorched colour brings to mind the burnt browns and oranges of Autumn leaves.
