Deep spalted beech bowl, hand-decorated.
This tulip shaped bowl sits on a foot and has an incurved rim. The outside of the bowl is textured with a random pattern of grooves which follow a roughly vertical path from the foot and onto the rim. It has been painted with a maple red background which compliments the spectacular natural grain, visible on the inside of the bowl. The high spots of the texturing detail have been accentuated with colours inspired by Autumn leaves. A natural feature of the wood presented as a leaf shaped depression, which has been coloured in leaf green, so as to stand out from the rest of the bowl.
The natural surface on the inside of the bowl has been enhanced and protected with Odies Oil and the painted surface has been protected with several layers of satin lacquer.
Would make a lovely fruit bowl.
