Small sweet chestnut bowl with hand-decorated rim.
The rim is decorated in contrasting orange and white, the use of crackle medium gives it a distressed appearance. The inner edge of the rim is textured, the outer edge of the rim and the edge of the insert foot, on the base, are scorched. There is also textured detailing to the base which has been highlighted with black embellishing wax. The remainder of the bowl is left natural to exhibit the woods beauty.
The piece is sealed with Danish Oil and additional coats of lacquer to protect the paint-work.
